This gastropub opened its doors for the first time on July 4th 2020, at the end of the Covid-19 lockdown.
The building was at one time the Orpington General Post Office, so the premises are spacious with high ceilings, and extend a long way back from the street frontage. With large steel ventilation ducts below the ceiling, and a large neon sign behind the bar, this reviewer (TW) was reminded of the bars to be found in the big cities in the northern USA. Tables and flooring are predominantly wooden.
At the time of this review - shortly after opening - the only cask beer available was St. Austell Proper Job, but as trade picks up, Harvey's Sussex Best will also be available on the second handpump, and is already included on the drinks section of the menu. The food offerings include Sunday roasts. Full menus are available on the pub's website.
