A BrewDog craft-beer paradise, their third London pub opened in 2013, and claimed to have the widest selection of craft beer in the capital. Hangar-like interior with angle-iron tables topped with reclaimed floorboards and steel cable racks overhead, with the BrewDog signature punk posters and retro arcade games and pinball machines.
Huge illuminated boards on the wall list some some 60 craft beers, draught, bottle and can, in the style of a cinema 'showing today' list. A twelve page booklet includes tasting notes. Some 40 taps around the bar dispense the draught beers, often ice-cold, around two-thirds from BrewDog and the remainder from other UK micros and overseas breweries and one or two ciders. Tap beers are served as halves, two-thirds or pints, though the many in the higher ABV range are available only in the smaller measures.
This bar can get busy to bursting-point in the evenings (there may be doormen outside) and you may have to wait to be served but the staff are friendly.
NB this outlet may run a cask ale festival during the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival, normally held towards the start of August.
