This 18th century Grade II listed thatched building has been in the hands of an enthusiastic local couple since 2015. They have made the pub an award winning sustainable hub with local produce, music, first floor art gallery & shop, while retaining its character. There are 3 local real ales including a changing guest and local cider from Hungerford Park. The kitchen features a wood-fired pizza oven to supplement excellent food range which is 80% organic and locally sourced. There is live music monthly. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
Historic Interest
The original Wheatsheaf Inn was demolished by 1792. A new Wheatsheaf had been opened by 1815 as a red-brick and thatched building.
