Situated in the hills above the market town of Newtown. This former drovers inn re-opened in June 2016 after a period of closure. The interior is stone walled and beamed throughout with an inglenook fireplace in the well presented restaurant. The bar, which is on the left after entering, has settles and a low ceiling which makes for a cosy atmosphere. Large parties can be catered for in the old stable block. The inn is handy for those attempting the nearby Kerry ridge-way path. Was once known as the 'Dolfor Ale house' as it only had a license to sell beer. Sadly, real ale has recently been discontinued with new landlords citing lack of demand as the reason.
