This pleasantly decorated canalside pub is popular with the boating trade. Good home cooked food is served. To keep the traditional atmosphere and conversation going the small TV in the bar area is only switched on for big sporting occasions. The pub runs both darts and dominoes teams. Historic Interest
Originally a horse staging post for fly-boats on the Shropshire Union canal. Mary Roscoe in 1896 and John Roscoe in 1900 are recorded as licensees and brewers at the pub.
