Classic thatched country Grade II-listed pub with original stone floors in half of the left hand bar and modern wooden flooring in the rest of the pub and restaurant. The one remaining handpump, usually serving Loddon beers, and the keg taps are in the smaller right hand bar with a beer menu board in the left hand bar. Note that the Rebellion IPA is no longer on cask.
The old Dutch Barn behind the pub opened in 2020 and has pizzas or burgers as its food offering - it is open Sat & Sun and bank holidays 8.30am-6pm. Serves coffees, teas, and soft drinks from opening time until food and alcohol is served from midday, but no cask ale available in the Barn.
The Bottle & Glass is ideally situated for walking in nearby woods. Look for the 130-plus-year-old graffiti engraved into a window pane in the left hand bar, which also hosts a woodburner. Traditional British food with a modern twist is served in the restaurant which is two connected rooms in a modern extension to the rear of the original pub. Newspapers are available at weekends. The pub sign from its days as a Brakspear pubco pub is in the first restaurant room.
