Traditional, busy conversational pub. Accredited for beer quality 2023
Decorated in a railway theme, the pub is conveniently located within a few minutes walk from the Severn Valley Railway station. From the station follow the road below the signal box, under the viaduct and through a short alley.
To the rear is a customer car park and a timber terrace that catches the sun in summer. Inside is a mezzanine from which to admire fine glazed decorative tiles on the walls above the single lounge bar.
Pub snack food includes well-filled cobs and delicious local pork pies that chime perfectly with the concept of a traditional pub. With no piped music, no TV and no gaming machines, just plain rustic furniture and open fires, it's a pub for conversation.
On the bar there are five real ales including the house beer 2857 from Bewdley Brewery named after a GWR freight locomotive built in 1918, and often beers from Ludlow or Wye Valley breweries.
Steam trains can be admired from the extensive patio seating as they pass by on the nearby viaduct.
Level access for customers with disability from the car park to the lounge, and bar staff assist with orders at the bar.
