This old Building situated on the Macclesfield to Sutton road dates from 1695 and used to be a Smithy. It is very close to the Macclesfield canal and is popular with boaters and walkers. The bar is on an L shape format enabling three distinct seating areas, one with three open fires. In the left hand area there are Interesting stained glass windows depicting Kings Heads. Nearest bus is 14A (Mon-Sat daytime) Selwyn Dr down Hall Lane.
There is a Camping and Caravan Club site a short distance away on Jarman.
Historic Interest
Located next to Gurnett grade II listed Aqueduct which is just south of bridge 43 on the Macclesfield canal.This bridge is a good example of a stone-built roving bridge where horses used to change from one side of the canal to the other.
