Reopened in August 2019 as one of Charles Wells' "Pizza, Pots and Pints" chain. The narrow front is deceptive as the pub goes back a fair distance to a surprisingly large and very attractive garden. The pub has a laid-back character with a mix of old furniture including some settees. Recorded music is played, and there is artwork on the walls, much of it for sale. Unfortunately, the supply of real ale is currently unreliable.
Historic Interest
This was formerly the HAUNCH OF VENISON, a small and basic M&B boozer. It was refurbished and reopened as the first 'Orange Tree' pub (a small local pub chain) in 1997. Renamed and reopened by Charles Wells in August 2019.
