This excellent country inn bills itself as "A real pub – local and proud". The cobbled frontage presages the delights within; three open fires, stone floor, candle-lit tables, low beams, exposed Cheshire brick and the old back-to-back fireplace. Seven Cheshire beers are part of the ethos of the pub. The house beers are brewed by Weetwood. One of the pumps is cooled 3C below the others. Each hand pump has tasting notes and tasters in tiny mugs are provided to help you decide. Much of the very good freshly cooked food is locally sourced.
Although not a quiet pub, the music isn't over-powering. Children under 10 are not allowed after 7pm. Boules are played in the garden area. The car park is small but there is a larger car park opposite for the Roebuck. This car park is owned by the same company so can be shared. Dogs are allowed in the snug bar.
Themed events are carried out regularly such as fish week, paddy week. Live music every other Friday evening and Jazz 2pm-5pm on the first Sunday of the month. Quiz night on the last Wednesday of the month.
Mon-Sat daytime buses stop at the end of the road.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
